Alyn Kitchen
Alyn Lodge includes a kitchen and dining room which will sit 24 people.
The kitchen is equipped with Pots, pans, utensils, plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery for 24 people. There is a gas hob and electric oven, plus microwave, instant hot water boiler and large fridge. There is a chest freezer on site as a shared resource.
Clywedog Kitchen
Clywedog is our second kitchen which also has a dining area and will seat up to 24 people giving campers more access to kitchen facilities if required. It is equipped with the same equipment as Alyn lodge.
Funding for this building was from the Welsh Assembly Government through the Rural Development Plan key fund.
Dee Lodge Classroom
Dee lodge is ideal for meetings, training sessions. Digital projector with surround sound – great for training courses.
Fox’s Den Bunk Room
New for 2026. Fox’s Den is a two-room small bunk house. The larger room has Alpine-style sleeping platforms with sleeping mats on two levels, suitable for up to 14 young people.
The smaller room is equipped with single beds with mattresses, as a leaders room. Plus there is space for 1 or 2 extra camp beds. This room is accessible for any person who is unable to camp over in a tent, and may need electrical power for medical equipment during their stay. Please contact the booking team for further information and hire rates.
Both rooms are accessible for wheelchairs, with an access ramp, wide doors and low thresholds.
This building is named after Peter Fox, who started his scouting journey in Wrexham in the 1950’s. Several decades later, looking back on his life, he realised that his time in Scouts had played an important part in who he became. Peter has visited Cox Wood on several occasions and has funded this bunk room and other projects, for which we are very grateful.

Outdoor shelter for wet weather activities or picnics.
Toilet block
New, modern toilet and shower facilities to enhance the camper and visitor experience. 6 individual toilet cubicles and 4 individual showers give more privacy and avoid a shared area which young people tell us they don’t like.
Outdoor Washing-up Area
At Alyn Kitchen there is an outdoor washing-up area comprising two double sinks and drainer units, with hot running water.
